South African great

“Melkkos” is one kind of my favourite dishes ever. I do honestly not understand what it is called in English, however, if I had to translate it, it will be something like milk food. It is a dish which consists of the main ingredient being milk, in which you include some flour and butter.

It is an excellent traditional dish that could be enjoyed all year long. Try it in the wintertime; it warms you up from inside! Nothing tastes nicer when compared to a bowl of “Melk kos”, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar at the top.

What is usually nicer, I ask all of you! If you have never used it, I would say the time is right.

1 cup of flour
1 1/2 tablespoons of hard butter
A pinch of salt
2 1/2 glasses of milk

1. Rub the butter into the flour, making use of your fingers. Add the salt and mix even more.
2. Bring the milk to your boil around the stove and add the butter and flour mixture somewhat at a time.
3. Turn the heat right down and allow it cook for approximately 5 minutes. Make sure you stir the mix often.
4. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the top and enjoy it warm!

You aren’t going to be disappointed using this type of recipe. Try and revel in. Believe me; you might.
