This scampi recipe is just right on the money man… nothing better on the Internet than Chef John's super basic rendition of garlic shrimp scampi… you can add rice or noodles with a bit more chicken or veggie liquid base maybe even a bit of milk with the rice… the stuff is just gonna be a meal you'd get in a solid restaurant. And that's all there is to it…….

  5. Made this last night. Excellent dinner and wife agreed. I added about 1/4 cup of dry white wine to the lemon juice / caper brine because I wanted a little more sauce for the pasta. Turned out very well. The key to this dish is don't burn the garlic; it's ruined if you do. I cooked the garlic and red pepper flakes for only about 30 seconds for this reason. A full minute might be too long. Next up is the Shrimp Fra Diavolo!

  7. didn't have caper brine so I substituted dry vermouth in my limited wisdom and I think it was a fairly compatible substitute… either way I ate the whole dang thing cuz it tasted so flipping good!

  8. I made this for dinner the other night, doubling the recipe. Then I cooked one pound of spaghetti noodles Al dente and tossed them with the garlic shrimp. I served this with my fantastic garlic bread and dinner was a big hit! Thank you Chef John for yet another fantastic recipe!!!

  10. so when the oil was steaming, we put the shrimp in, and it starting bubbling so much that it flew out of the pan and burned my cousin hahaha
