The ingredients for making approx. 12 hot ring doughnuts are as follows:

350g strong white flour
Pinch salt
30g caster sugar
50g margarine
7g fast-action dried yeast
65ml warm milk
65ml warm water
1 large egg, beaten
Vegetable oil, to deep fry

For the coating:
3 tablespoons caster sugar
½ tablespoon ground cinnamon

  3. I tried this using fresh yeast.. 5 grams according to your suggestion.. But the doughnuts came out tasting very yeasty.. Should I decrease the amount of yeast or am I letting it proof too much.. It would be of great help if you could tell me where am going wrong..

  5. I have problem with fry, always they get dark colour in 20 second and inside it's uncooked. Please tell me how much hot should be the oil???!?!
