Shakshuka (Arabic: شكشوكة‎; Hebrew: שקשוקה‎) (also Shakshouka Chakchouka) is a dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, chili peppers, onions, often spiced with cumin.
It is believed to have a Tunisian origin.
Shakshuka is a staple of Tunisian, Libyan, Algerian, and Moroccan cuisines traditionally served up in a cast iron pan with bread to mop up the sauce. It is also popular in Israel, where it was introduced by Tunisian Jews.

this is the best way to prepare shakshuka, the spicy, warming, vegetable and egg dish that is a regular part of the Israeli diet and is usually served as a cooked breakfast or a light lunch.
The mix of tomato, garlic, herbs and spices, traditionally topped with sunny side up egg, is reputedly a fine hangover cure.
Israelis argue that only the version prepared over the years by their mothers or grandmothers can be described as truly authentic.
Regardless, most other Middle Eastern people will argue the same.

That took me back memory lane 23 years, and I remembered this traditional Israeli Breakfast.
So after a little practice, it all got back to me, kind of like riding a bike…

שַׁקְשׁוּקָה היא מאכל העשוי מביצה המבושלת על אש קטנה עם עגבניות, בצל ופלפלים.
בגרסה המסורתית והמקובלת, המוגשת במסעדות פועלים רבות, חלמון הביצה נותר בשלמותו בתבשיל, בדומה לביצת עין.
גרסה שונה היא זו בה החלמונים מעורבבים בחלבונים, כמו בביצה מקושקשת.
פירוש השם בשפה הברברית הוא “תערובת”.
במרוקאית נקראת השקשוקה “צ’קצ’וקה”, ובשפות אחרות “תוקתוקה”.
לא ידוע כיצד השתרשה בישראל המילה שקשוקה.
מאכל זה הובא לישראל על ידי העולים החדשים מצפון אפריקה: ממרוקו, מתוניסיה, מאלג’יריה, מלוב ומחצי האי ערב.
בסיס המאכל קבוע: עגבניות, שמן זית וביצים.

  1. Onions, Garlic. hot pepper and other spicy stuff for breakfast? Sorry not for me. I don't need heartburn first thing in the morning or at any other time during the day.

How is this the best breakfast recipe in the world are all of your taste buds fucked up that is some nasty shyyyttt I'm Italian and I think that spaghetti sauce with fucking eggs is gross it's not breakfast that is definitely GERD waiting to happen acid reflux heartburn who wants to to eat that first thing in the morning a bunch of spaghetti sauce that's pretty much what it is a bunch of onions garlic and tomato sauce I feel bad for y'all who have to go to work or be around your loved ones because your breath gonna be stankin a fucking garlic and onions disgusting just don't understand how this is called breakfast smh 😂😂🤣🤣

  4. Bacon? Ham? Like some kinda meat, maybe some cheese and peppers it's just onions, tomatoes witch are fucking nasty with egg on top.. not appealing at all. Sorry the title of this video is very misleading since it's far from anything that even sounds good… yuck

  6. I think you need to add some cheese and hamburger and get some torita chips. Throw those eggs out the window. Then we can talk.

  7. Wow! Up to the eggs that were added, it was what we call in Mexico "salsa ranchera". In Mexico, we do have an egg breakfast called "Huevos Rancheros". We prepare our salsa ranchera just like the one you prepared, we slightly fry to softness two corn tortilla, then fry two eggs. We lay our eggs over the slightly fried corn tortillas and add the salsa (just as you prepared) all over the eggs and tortillas. Realize, that most Mexicans are part Spanish (Euro-Arab) and part American Indian. The Spanish were part Arab and part European. So, our cuisine is part Arab, part European and part American Indian (corn tortillas). This salsa you prepared is also used in our "chili rellenos", cooled and liquefy for taco salsa.
